New Episode: Alexanderplatz – The Berlinian
The fourth episode of the Alexanderplatz documentary was produced by Entwicklungsstadt.de.
The focus is on the former Signa project, now known as “The Berlinian,” whose structural work has since been completed. We document the status of the work in October 2025, speak with those involved, and explore how the new high-rise will impact the development of the square.
Standing approximately 146 meters tall with 34 floors, the building makes a striking statement on the Berlin skyline. The topping-out ceremony in January 2026 marked an important milestone and underscores the progress of a project that extends beyond its mere function. “The Berlinian” symbolizes Alexanderplatz’s transformation into a modern office and business hub.

Alexanderplatz construction site | So what happens next?
Despite the delays, the vision of a new Alexanderplatz is still alive. In the future, the high-rise buildings will offer office space, apartments and shopping areas and add modern architecture to the already well-connected location. The challenges are great, but the commitment of those involved in the project could lead to a long-term transformation that both respects the striking historical backdrop and brings new impetus to the heart of the capital.
Patience is still required, but as soon as the first storeys become visible, the dynamics at Alexanderplatz are likely to become a talking point again – and perhaps even transform its image as an “eternal construction site” into a symbol of new beginnings.
